History Volume 3
THE TUDORS Discovery, invention, invasion (well almost) and treason, the Tudor age had them all. Life in the not so 'merry' England of the Tudor monarchy was rarely dull- sinister plots, routine divorce and the odd beheading, arguments with Spain and Rome- this most colourful period of English history is explored in some depth. *Also included on this CD are several sheets dealing with the Stuarts.
THE ANGLO SAXONS After the Roman Empire began to crumble, yet before the Normans conquered England, the Anglo-Saxon culture flowered. When the Anglo-Saxon peoples, who were members of Germanic tribes came to England, they pushed the Celts into the far western reaches of Cornwall, Wales, and Cumbria. This left the rest of England for the Anglo-Saxons to settle, and settle they did, occupying almost all of England by the 9th century.
BRITAIN SINCE 1930 An era of change and technological development - the birth of the National Health Service, Dad's Army and the biggest global conflict of all time. From the sombre Thirties to the Swinging Sixties, these worksheets cover an age that saw Britain change from a mighty Imperial force to a nation destined to become an important member of a new European community.
